Dr. Richard (RJ) Stuart III is a skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon who joined the practice in 2024. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Dr. Stuart attended Park Tudor High School and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting, as well as a Master's degree in Information Systems from Indiana University. After briefly working as an information systems consultant, he decided to pursue a career in the dental field and became the fourth dentist in his family. In 2019, he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Stuart then underwent four years of rigorous training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at West Virginia University, with a special emphasis on tooth extractions, dental implants, and anesthesia. He is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and an active member of the Indiana Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ISOMS). His clinical interests include in-office anesthesia, third molar extractions, and complex rehabilitation with dental implants. Dr. Stuart enjoys spending time with his wife, Kathleen, and their children, Richie and Mary Kate. In his free time, he enjoys cycling, home improvement projects, playing Yahtzee, and traveling.

would give 10 out of 5 stars if I could. The entire experience was outstanding. Dr. Stuart and Assistant Gracie were incredibly kind and professional. The were able to get me in quickly for my wisdom teeth removal. From the moment I arrived, the office felt so welcoming and had more of a family atmosphere. I was very nervous beforehand but they immediately put me at ease and reassured me every step of the way. The procedure went smoothly and i felt genuinely cared for throughout the whole process. I highly recommend this practise.

Had all four wisdom teeth surgically extracted with Dr. Wirey, and he and his team did an excellent job. Everything from the IV to anesthesia went smoothly. The process was painless, and recovery was very smooth. Numbing lasted about 2–3 days, and I barely experienced any pain after surgery. I followed his advice to extract all four at once and don’t regret it at all. Just follow the recovery instructions at home and everything should be a breeze! I was referred by a friend and heard great things about the other dentists as well. I highly recommend!

Highly Recommend using Oral Surgeons of Indiana for any oral surgery needs. I am a local dentist and send many of my patients here for extractions and implants. I have even sent my family to this office. The doctors are extremely knowledgeable but also caring. They go the extra mile to make sure patients are comfortable and referring doctors are in the know!
