What Is Full Arch Treatment?
A modern alternative to dentures and individual implants.
Traditional full-arch implant restoration once required one implant per tooth — 10 to 14 implants per arch. The All-on-4 / All-on-X technique changed all of that. By precisely placing just 4 to 6 implants per arch — angling the back implants to take advantage of available bone — we can support a full arch of beautiful, permanent teeth.
The result: a fixed, non-removable set of teeth that looks natural, functions like real teeth, and ends the daily frustration of dentures forever.
You may be a candidate if…
- You're missing all or most of your teeth on the upper or lower jaw
- Your remaining teeth are failing, broken down, or causing chronic pain
- You wear dentures and are tired of slipping, adhesive, sore spots, or food restrictions
- You've been told you need a full mouth of extractions
- You want a permanent, fixed solution — not something you take out at night
- You've been told you don't have enough bone for traditional implants
By the Numbers
Why 4 implants can replace a full arch.
The All-on-4 / All-on-X protocol is one of the most studied full-arch implant techniques in modern oral surgery. The data below comes from peer-reviewed literature and OSOI clinical experience.

Why Patients Choose This
Everything dentures aren't.
Full arch implants don't just replace your teeth — they restore your bite, protect your jawbone, and give you back the foods, confidence, and quality of life that tooth loss takes away.
Eat anything you want
Bite force comparable to natural teeth — no more avoiding steak, apples, or corn on the cob.
Fixed in place — never removed
Unlike dentures, your new teeth stay put. No adhesive, no slipping, no clicking.
Preserves your jawbone
Implants stimulate bone the same way natural roots do, preventing the facial collapse caused by tooth loss.
Often teeth in a single day
Many patients walk out the same day with a full set of beautiful temporary teeth attached to their implants.
Looks completely natural
Custom-shaded prosthetic teeth designed to match your face, smile, and bite for a result no one can tell isn't real.
Designed to last a lifetime
With proper care, the implants themselves are designed to be a permanent solution.
Before & After
The kinds of transformations full arch can deliver.
Failing dentition, loose dentures, and missing teeth replaced with fixed, natural-looking smiles in as little as one day. The illustrations below show the type of outcome our board-certified surgeons design for every full arch case.

The Treatment Process
Three steps from where you are to a brand new smile.
Consultation & 3D Planning
We start with a no-pressure consultation, a full exam, and a 3D CT scan of your jaw. Your surgeon reviews your bone, your bite, and your goals — then walks you through every option, every step, and every cost in writing before you commit to anything.
Surgery Day
Under IV sedation in our accredited surgical suite, your surgeon removes any failing teeth, places 4 to 6 dental implants per arch, and attaches a beautiful set of fixed temporary teeth — all in one appointment. You go home the same day with new teeth.
Healing & Final Teeth
Over the next 3–6 months, the implants fuse permanently to your jawbone. Once healing is complete, we deliver your custom-crafted final prosthesis — designed for the long haul and built to look indistinguishable from natural teeth.
What to Expect
Surgery day, start to finish.
The whole appointment takes 2–4 hours per arch, and you'll be under IV sedation the entire time — most patients don't remember any of it.

Recovery Timeline
What recovery actually looks like.
First 3–5 days

Soft food diet (think eggs, pasta, fish, smoothies). Most patients return to work within 5–7 days.
Weeks 2–8
Continue softer foods while implants integrate with your jawbone. You'll have a few short follow-up visits with your surgeon.
3–6 months
Implants fully fused to bone. Your custom permanent prosthesis is delivered — and you can eat virtually anything you want for the rest of your life.

Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is full arch dental implant treatment?
Full arch dental implants replace an entire upper or lower row of teeth using just 4 to 6 implants per arch. A custom-made arch of prosthetic teeth attaches permanently to the implants, giving you a fixed, non-removable set of teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
What is the difference between All-on-4, All-on-6, and All-on-X?
All-on-4 uses 4 implants per arch and is the most common protocol. All-on-6 uses 6 implants for added support in patients with adequate bone. 'All-on-X' is the umbrella term — your surgeon will recommend the exact number of implants based on your bone, bite, and treatment goals after a 3D CT scan.
Can I really get teeth in a single day?
Yes — for most patients, we attach a beautiful set of fixed temporary teeth to your implants the same day as surgery. You walk out with new teeth. Your custom permanent teeth are delivered after your jawbone has fully healed (typically 3–6 months later).
How much do full arch dental implants cost in Indianapolis?
Full arch implant treatment typically ranges from $20,000–$35,000 per arch, depending on the complexity of the case, whether extractions are needed, and the type of final prosthesis chosen. We provide a detailed treatment plan and exact cost estimate at your consultation. Financing is available through CareCredit, Cherry, and Sunbit.
Will I need bone grafting?
One of the major advantages of the All-on-4 / All-on-X approach is that the back implants are placed at an angle to take advantage of available bone — often eliminating the need for bone grafting entirely. Patients with severe bone loss may still need some grafting, which your surgeon will determine from your 3D CT scan.
How long does the procedure take?
Surgery for a single arch typically takes 2–4 hours. Both arches can sometimes be done in the same appointment. You'll be under IV sedation the entire time and won't remember the procedure.
Is the procedure painful?
You'll be completely comfortable during surgery thanks to IV sedation. After the procedure, most patients describe the discomfort as much less than they expected — typically managed with prescribed medication for a few days. Most people return to work within a week.
How long do full arch implants last?
With proper care, the implants themselves are designed to be a lifetime solution. The prosthetic teeth attached to the implants typically last 15–20+ years before needing replacement due to normal wear.
Am I a candidate for full arch implants?
Most adults missing all or most of their teeth on an arch — including patients who've been told they have too little bone for traditional implants — are candidates. The only way to know for sure is a consultation with a board-certified oral surgeon and a 3D CT scan, which we offer at our Indianapolis office.
Do you offer financing for full arch treatment?
Yes. We accept most major dental and medical insurance plans, and offer flexible financing through CareCredit, Cherry, and Sunbit — including 0% APR options for qualified applicants. HSA and FSA funds are also accepted.
Am I a candidate if I already wear dentures?
Yes — many full arch implant patients are long-time denture wearers who are tired of slipping, sore spots, and a limited diet. Bone loss from years of denture use is usually still compatible with the All-on-4 protocol because the angled posterior implants engage stable basal bone deeper in the jaw. A CBCT scan at consultation confirms candidacy.
How is All-on-4 different from snap-in (overdenture) implants?
An overdenture clips onto 2–4 implants and is removed daily for cleaning. An All-on-4 fixed bridge attaches permanently to 4 implants and is never removed by the patient — only by the surgeon for routine maintenance. Both options stop bone loss, but a fixed full arch bridge offers chewing force closer to natural teeth and avoids the daily on/off routine.
